RDRSA

The tire inflation system for farm trailers

TerraCare’s trailer tire pressure control systems are available for single-axle, tandem, or tridem trailers. The system can be controlled via the tractor or a separate DP-M display (2.8"). The tires are inflated using the tractor’s compressor or an auxiliary compressor.

RDRSA-1A – for one axle

RDRSA-2A – for two axles

RDRSA-3A – for three axles

Additional options: Tire pressure monitoring systems for tractor trailers

Display – DP-M

The M display (2.8") is included as standard with tire pressure monitoring systems for tractors. If only a system for the trailer is purchased, this display must be purchased separately.

Features:
– 2.8" color display – Simple and durable system design – High-quality components

Control unit – RDRSA-TVA

Controls the towed machinery. This feature sets the same pressure on the implement’s axle as on the tractor’s front axle, and both axles can be controlled together via the display.

Special features:
– Coupled with the tractor’s front axle

Axle bores

Upon customer request, it is also possible to drill a hole in the center of the axle through which air for the trailer tire pressure monitoring system is routed to the tires. This eliminates the need for external hoses. If the axle is already drilled and prepared at the factory, the TerraCare system can be installed directly.

Special features:
– Special deep-hole drilling technology – Pressure line routed through the axle

DSP pressure cylinders

Pressure cylinders for mounting on the trailer.

Special features:
– 120 / 100 / 80 L with max. 10 bar – 60 / 40 / 20 / 10 L with max. 15.5 bar – Direct connection to the RDRSA – Compressed-air buffering – Filling via the tractor or an auxiliary compressor

GeoCare: automatic switching

This system can save a position via GPS. Upon passing this point or these boundaries, it automatically switches to field mode and deflates the tires. GeoCare prevents users from forgetting to deflate the tires and driving into the field with excessive tire pressure.

Special features:
– No GPS pre-installation required on the tractor—can be retrofitted to any TerraCare system – Automatic switching from road mode to field mode – Switching position saved at the push of a button

Slope compensation – HaAut

HaAut is the automatic slope compensation system. Manual slope compensation is already included as standard for trailers.

Special features:
– Control via gyroscope (tilt sensor) – Left and right tires controlled independently – Easy switching of the slope side – Patented pressure reservoir ensures sufficient air – Valve box separates the left and right wheels for stability on slopes

FAQs

Answers to the most frequently asked questions

How does a tire pressure monitoring system (CTIS) work on an agricultural trailer?

A tire pressure monitoring system on a tractor trailer automatically adjusts tire pressure to the current operating conditions. While driving, the driver can easily switch between preset pressure settings for road and field operation. The system regulates tire pressure via pressure lines, valves, and rotary joints directly at the wheels.

During field operation, tire pressure is reduced—this increases the contact area and reduces ground pressure. Before driving on the road, the system increases the pressure again to ensure safe road handling, reduced tire wear, and lower rolling resistance. As a result, the trailer always operates at the optimal tire pressure—regardless of load or location.

The TerraCare tire pressure monitoring system is suitable for nearly all agricultural trailers and towed machinery.

These include, among others:

  • Slurry tanks
  • Dump trucks and flatbed dump trucks
  • Push-off trailers
  • Silage trailers
  • Forage transport trailers
  • Manure spreaders
  • Transfer trailers
  • Bale trailers
  • Special-purpose trailers

The system is customized depending on the vehicle type and axle configuration. This makes the solution suitable for both new vehicles and many existing machines.

Yes, the tire pressure monitoring system can be retrofitted to many older trailers; the technical requirements are checked in advance.

First, we conduct a technical inspection of the trailer, followed by a consultation to determine the appropriate system solution. Next, the necessary components are installed, such as pressure lines, rotary unions, valves, the control unit, and, if needed, an auxiliary compressor.

After installation, the system is calibrated and adjusted to the specific tires being used. Finally, we perform a functional test, and the driver is instructed on how to operate the system.

When installed properly, the retrofit is completed in a short time and the tractor trailer is immediately ready for use.

Only if the “external wiring” option is selected for the wheels. 90% of trailers are equipped with internal wiring.
